Both are extremely powerful and very well documented !
in all languages, in video (youtube), training (video2brain), for free ;
but when you want to open a .psd, .ai, .indd, .pdf (edit), .fla, etc... for example ;
for this kind of files you don't really have the choice and you need to use adobe softwares.
There is a Mac version for adobe and ms office but not for linux. why ?!
The paying softwares exist and look the prices !

Professional Video Production : Autodesk/Discreet Flint/Flame/Inferno/Smoke
no linux version for Autocad but you have : VariCAD, BricsCAD, ARES Commander
